Τhe opening of the “Sport for different Heroes” project was held with special interest in the ‘’Red 1925’’ Hall of Karaiskakis Stadium. Olympiacos staff welcomed the representatives of the other participants (Hask Mladost, Red Star, Lazio Parachuting, Apoel) and presented the project requirements. 

Olympiacos S.F.P. organizes the kick-off meetings of "My Olympic Experience" and "Sports For Different Heroes" in the next three days (1-3 March) in the framework of the Erasmus+ European programme. Representatives of  European clubs/members of the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) will be hosted in Piraeus to get information about the actions of the two projects led by our club. 

In the first CEV Cup semifinal where the Olympiacos fans created an impressive atmosphere, the “Reds’’ were defeated by Trentino (3-0). The match against the World Champion was very difficult and the team fought for the victory but didn’t achieve to get a positive a result in the view of the rematch held in Italy on Tuesday (5/3). The “Reds’’ were passionate and fought in the three sets against a team that participates in the best championship in the world and is in the second position but the high quality of the Italians led to the victory.

Olympiacos did an important step for the qualification to the Euroleague Final-4 winning 16-7 against Sant Andreu in the first game of the quarter-finals held in Barcelona. The “Reds’’ had an outstanding performance taking a nine-goal difference and are expected to secure the qualification to the final-4 in the rematch in Piraeus on 9 March. Asimaki was the top scorer with 4 goals and Avramidou added 3.

Olympiacos was defeated by Perfumerias Avenida (72-48) in the last Euroleague game for its first year at the top European club competition. The “Reds’’ were close to the score in the first period but were bad offensively and went back with 39-31 in the first half. Perfumerias Avenida pressed on the defense and got the seventh victory in the tournament. Olympiacos completed its European journey with two wins.

 The men’s volleyball team celebrated the qualification to the CEV CUP semi-finals overturning the score of the first game and winning the golden set against Burga. The “Reds’’ won 3-0, led in the golden set with 15-11 and reached a great success. The “Legend’’ had an impressive performance and celebrated the qualification having the support of the fans and continues the European journey against Trentino. The first game will be held on 26 February in Renti aiming to overcome a strong opponent and qualify to another European final. 

Olympiacos did its best performance in Euroleague winning Carolo Basket with 79-54 in the 13th match-day. The “Reds’’ were amazing in the first ten minutes taking a lead of 16 points. The team kept the game under control and was ahead with 25 points (46-21) at the end of the first half. Olympiacos remained dominant and had an excellent defensive performance getting the second victory. Thomas scored 17 points and Pavlopoulou added 14. 

Key data: 

Olympiacos continued with a home draw to Jug (10-10) in the 8th matchday of LEN Champions League. The ‘’Reds’’ started the game well, showed their quality and led with 7-4. Jug did a 5-0 run and overturned the score leading with 9-7. The European Champions reacted and got the draw, reaching 12 points and remaining in the third place of the group. The next game is against Jadran (26/2).

Olympiacos presence was impressive at the annual meeting held in Brussels and in the meetings of the EMCA and the European Commission. The club delegation, headed by the General Secretary, Mrs. Christina Tsiligkiri, proved its leading role in European sport actions developing innovative and interesting collaborations. 

The women’s basketball team was defeated by TTT Riga (70-44) for the 12th game of Euroleague in Latvia. 

The “Reds’’ had a good performance only in the first quarter. The hosts took advantage of their home and led with 26 points with Olympiacos being impossible to react. Tikvic was the top scorer with 12 points and Nikolopoulou added 11 ones.
