Olympiacos hosts the second meeting of the European project "Big4Sports" in Piraeus on  27 and 28 May 2019. Representatives of 4 European sports organizations (EPSI, SPORSORA, ICSS, Catalan Sport Council) and of 5 European multisport clubs (Olympiacos, Hask Mladost, Bayer Leverkusen, Wiener, Aalborg) will discuss the development of the project, its communication policy, practical implementation and the next steps in a very interesting meeting organized by our club at its headquarters in Alexandras Square.

The men’s water polo team completed the group stage with a victory against Verona (11-5) in the last match-day. The European Champions who had already secured the qualification to the Final-8 held in Hannover on 6-8 June, were passionate from the first minute, achieved an easy win and finished in the second position of the group. The ‘’Reds’’ reached 30 points and will face Brescia in the quarter-final who finished in the third position of the first group.

The men’s water polo team secures the qualification to the Final-8 held in Hannover on 6-8 June participating in the final stage of the Champions League for the fourth consecutive year. The European Champions won Hannover with 17-7 easily at Papastrateio in the 13th matchday of the group stage and are waiting for the last game against Verona to finalize their position in the group ranking. The “Reds’’ had an excellent performance leading with 6-0 in the first period and were ahead with 10-2 in the half time.

Olympiacos claimed another European title against the host in the final but Sabadell won the game and the trophy exploiting the man-ups in the last attempts. The ‘’Reds’’ had an impressive performance and although was defeated, are in the European  elite. The team of Charis Pavlides played with passion and soul but didn’t achieve to win. Olympiacos took a dream start and had the control but a bad performance in the last few minutes, allowed the hosts to overturn the score and win the trophy.

The women’s water polo team secured the qualification to the Euroleague final. Having the support of the fans who traveled to Spain, the ‘’Reds’’ got an important victory against Vouliagmeni with 8-7 and qualified to the final held in Sabadell. Olympiacos had an excellent defensive performance with Stamatopoulou making crucial saves and Avramidou scoring 4 goals while she was injured. The team of Charis Pavlides will play  a European final for the sixth time (third in Euroleague) and will claim the fourth European title.

Olympiacos continues the charitable campaign ‘’Don’t stop helping’’ which has been implemented for five years, supporting vulnerable social groups and collecting goods in the coming weekend (20-21/4) in order to offer them to charitable foundations at Easter. The collection of goods will take place in the Olympiacos emblematic first offices held at Marina Zea and at the ‘’M.Merkouri’’ sporting hall. Olympiacos encourages the fans to contribute to the club great effort and help vulnerable social groups. 

Olympiacos did another important step for the qualification to the Final-8 winning 11-3 against Spandau for the 12th Champions League game held in Berlin. The European Champions need a victory in the last two games to secure the qualification in the final phase of the top European competition for the fourth consecutive year. The ‘’Reds’’ will fight for the victory in the next game held in Papastrateio on Wednesday 24 April so as to celebrate the qualification with the fans.

Olympiacos proved its social profile again organizing the event "Sports and People with Mental Retardation" at the ‘’Melina Merkouri’’ sporting hall. The event was held within the framework of the European project "Sports For Different Heroes" co-funded by the European Union, in which our club participates and leads focusing on the social integration of people with mental disabilities. The event organized in cooperation with the ‘’M. Kokkori’’ Institution, the Municipality of Piraeus, the O.P.A.N.

Olympiacos organizes the sport event "Sports and People with Mental Retardation" on Wednesday 10 April (17:00). The event is one of the actions included in the European project “Sports For Different Heroes’’ in which our club participates and leads. This action will take place at the Rentis sporting hall ‘’Melina Merkouri’’ and includes sport activities for people with mental disabilities hosted at the ‘’M. Kokkori’’ Institution with the participation of the club's Volleyball and Handball Academies.

The men’s water polo team had an impressive performance winning Mladost with 14-6 in Croatia and did another important step for the qualification to the Final-8 in Hannover (Germany). After the great victory against Szolnoki, the European Champions celebrated a very important win having an excellent performance. The “Reds’’ had a strong defense keeping the Croatian team scoreless for 12 minutes and boosted a good margin.
