In the third European final in four years and the fifth one in the Champions League, Olympiacos defended the title of European Champion but lost by Ferencvaros on penalties. Although the ‘’Reds’’ overturned the game and tied to 10-10 in the last period, they didn’t achieve to celebrate the back2back victory of the European trophy. The team showed passion and soul having the support of 350 fans. This presence and the achievements of Thodoris Vlachos’ team rank it among the top clubs in Europe and make the fans proud with all these successes and distinctions.
Olympiacos won Brescia (8-7) and qualified to the semi-final of the LEN Champions League held in Hannover. Having the strong support of their fans, the European Champions had a good performance and continued defending their title. The “Reds’’ will face Pro Recco on Friday (20:00, ERT Sports HD) which will be a rematch of the last year final in Genoa when our club celebrated the title. As far as the game against Brescia is concerned, Olympiacos was dominant going ahead from the start until the end.

Olympiacos organized the second meeting of the "Big4Sports" project with great success in Alexandras Square in the framework of the club participation in the European programme Erasmus +. Representatives of 4 European sports organizations (EPSI, SPORSORA, ICSS, Catalan Sport Council) and 4 European sports clubs (Hask Mladost, Bayer Leverkusen, Aalborg, Wiener) visited our country and the club's facilities to discuss the project details and the next steps.
Olympiacos hosts the second meeting of the European project "Big4Sports" in Piraeus on 27 and 28 May 2019. Representatives of 4 European sports organizations (EPSI, SPORSORA, ICSS, Catalan Sport Council) and of 5 European multisport clubs (Olympiacos, Hask Mladost, Bayer Leverkusen, Wiener, Aalborg) will discuss the development of the project, its communication policy, practical implementation and the next steps in a very interesting meeting organized by our club at its headquarters in Alexandras Square.
The men’s water polo team completed the group stage with a victory against Verona (11-5) in the last match-day. The European Champions who had already secured the qualification to the Final-8 held in Hannover on 6-8 June, were passionate from the first minute, achieved an easy win and finished in the second position of the group. The ‘’Reds’’ reached 30 points and will face Brescia in the quarter-final who finished in the third position of the first group.

The men’s water polo team secures the qualification to the Final-8 held in Hannover on 6-8 June participating in the final stage of the Champions League for the fourth consecutive year. The European Champions won Hannover with 17-7 easily at Papastrateio in the 13th matchday of the group stage and are waiting for the last game against Verona to finalize their position in the group ranking. The “Reds’’ had an excellent performance leading with 6-0 in the first period and were ahead with 10-2 in the half time.
