The first meeting of You’re Hope was held with great success in Piraeus. Olympiacos prepared an exciting event for the start of the project and a range of social ones so as to please the partners for their contribution. The participants were very happy with the great hospitality and excellent work of Olympiacos related to the preparation of the project.
They underpinned that Olympiacos proved why it is an appropriate club for the coordination of European projects and is regarded as a key factor for the further implementation of other European initiatives. As the General Secretary of EMCA, Federico Eichberg mentioned: ‘’We could say that Olympiacos takes the gold medal in the professionalism and contribution to the implementation of European projects. It is one of the best European multisport clubs and is our honour to cooperate with it.’’
Apart from the part of the project related to the project issues, Olympiacos organized a range of social events for the participants so as to enjoy their time in Greece and know more about the place where dominates and its operations take place. The partners visited the Museum of Olympiacos in Karaiskakis Stadium having the opportunity to take a brief look at the large history of the club. Also, they realized the sense of brotherhood and family that athletes and supporters feel during the memorial service in honour of the supporters that died in the tragedy of Gate 7. Moreover, they visited the Acropolis Museum and saw the archeological artifacts and Parthenon marbles with enthusiasm.
Now, the partners proceed with the implementation of ‘’You’re Hope’’ project and the development of actions for the social integration of refugees. After this meeting and the positive comments of the participants, Olympiacos feel more powerful and confident for its contribution to the development of European projects.
