A winning performance against Hannover!
Olympiacos was unable to recover from its bad first half, lost by Girona with 89-62 at Pavelló Municipal Girona - Fontajau and stayed out the Eurocup. Despite the win (65-60) in the first game in Glyfada, Olympiacos was defeated with more points and now, is focusing on the Greek competitions. Macaulay scored 17 points, Anderson had 14 ones and Chatzinikolaou added 12.
The women’s volleyball team continues its participation in Challenge Cup with dreams and ambitions. The ‘’Reds’’ celebrated the qualification to the "16" of the competition as it won Logrono 3-0 set (25-18, 25-12, 25-17) at the Renti’s "M. Merkouri", making an excellent appearance. Having the great support of its fans, Olympiacos played well against the Spanish Champion and secured the qualification to the next round.
Having a great defencive performance, Olympiacos made the first step to qualify to the next Eurocup phase, dominating against Girona 65-60 for the first game of the Eurocup round of 16. The ‘’Reds’’ gained a great victory and now, goes to Spain so as to ensure the qualification to the next round. Macaulay scored 15 points, Kaltsidou added 14 and Maltsi had 13.
Having an excellent defensive performance, Olympiacos won Sepsi 67-56 and qualified to the top 16 of EuroCup. The ‘’Reds’’ imposed their rhythm from the beginning of the game with Maltsi scoring 17 points and Macaulay adding 16.
The ‘’Legend’’ did another important victory as it beat OSC Budapest 10-6 and keeps its impressive performance having four wins and a draw in the first five days of Champions League. It was the absolute dominant in Budapest and remains on the top of the group.
Olympiacos secured the qualification to the next round of Challenge Cup in the golden set of the rematch against Tours. Although the French team won 3-0 sets, the ‘’Reds’’ kept calm and won the golden set. Now, Olympiacos will face Lokomotiv Baku for the next phase.
Olympiacos women volleyball team started the Challenge Cup successfully winning Logrono 3-2 sets. The Reds proved the enormous potential confirming that they will also have a leading role this year. Olympiacos won the 3-2 set and has the advantage for the qualification to the next round. Hippe was the top scorer with 20 points.
Another outstanding performance for Olympiacos Men's water polo team that beat Partizan 16-8 for the day 4 and continues undefeated in Champions League. The ‘’Reds’’ were the leader of the game and didn’t permit to Partizan to react and question their superiority. Olympiacos kept its top rank in Group A and proves that is one of the favourites to win the trophy for this year.
