Olympiacos in the European Elite!

Olympiacos presence was impressive at the annual meeting held in Brussels and in the meetings of the EMCA and the European Commission. The club delegation, headed by the General Secretary, Mrs. Christina Tsiligkiri, proved its leading role in European sport actions developing innovative and interesting collaborations.

The final meeting was the coordinators’ one for the projects implemented in 2019. Christina Tsiligkiri was present at this workshop to discuss about the projects "My Olympic Experience" and "Sports For Different Heroes ". The coordinators received important instructions on how to manage the projects and coordinate the other participants, on the financial issues and the submission of final documents after the end.

Moreover, the club has received positive comments about the actions and especially about “You’re Hope” project and the excellent communication campaign that has been implemented. According to the EMCA members, the communication strategy of the project was one of the best in the five-year history of the Association and is candidate for the top among the actions implemented in 2018.

The consistency and leadership of Olympiacos is also confirmed by the acceptance of new ideas expected to be presented in April. For the next year, the club is planning to engage with interesting topics such as sport tourism, the social inclusion of people with disabilities, healthy ageing, the promotion of Olympic sports and the role of sport in the fight against violence and crime. All these ideas prove the social profile of the club and the intense engagement with social responsibility projects. The success has resulted in partnerships at a non-EMCA level with European sport organizations and federations.

Tsiligkiri: "We will continue to work hard"

Olympiacos General Secretary, Christina Tsiligkiri stated at olympiacossfp.gr: "Our presence in Brussels has been completed with a three-day discussion and meetings in the European Commission on sports issues. At the same time, a range of seminars were held at the European Commission on both the new trends in sport in the European Union and on social issues that can be resolved through sport. These issues concern sensitive social groups such as disabled people, elderly people who are socially excluded and aspire to join society through sport. We have presented a range of new proposals that have been universally accepted by all the representatives of these clubs. We are particularly pleased with the fact that most of our proposals are accepted by our partners and we are committed to continuing to work hard to keep Olympiacos champion and leader not only in sport competitions but also at the level of European multisport projects’’.

The interest is now focused on the preparation of the kick-off meeting of the two projects that the club is leading and the hosting of the representatives of the other participants in Piraeus. The aim of the club is to organize an impressive meeting that proves the greatness and reputation of the club so as to give the chance to the guests to know the facilities and the environment that the most successful European multisport club grows and develops the current and the next champions. The meeting will be held in Piraeus with the participation of representatives of seven European multisport clubs.
