Meetings in Brussels ended with Olympiacos being present at the European Commission sport initiatives.
The round of meetings ended with the project coordinators’ meeting to be implemented in 2020. Olympiacos as the coordinator of the “Disability Water Sports” project participated in the meeting, receiving important information on the management of actions and other participants, financial issues and submission of the final report.
In addition, a club delegation also participated in the kick-off meeting of the "Sports & Diabetes" project. The project is being implemented under the auspices of Bayer Leverkusen and concerns the social inclusion of people with diabetes through their participation in sport activities. In addition to Bayer and Olympiacos, Lazio, Hask Mladost, Wiener and the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) are project partners.
The club's presence at all meetings during the four-day stay in the Belgian capital was particularly constructive. The series of the meetings provided the opportunity for new ideas and collaborations with European sports organizations inside and outside the EMCA. Olympiacos' proposals for both the social integration of vulnerable social groups and the promotion of sports and physical activity were universally accepted by all EMCA members. The focus is now on preparing the new proposals to be submitted to the European Commission in the next April.
